I know it's been nearly two years since I've posted. Nothing important to say, I guess. But I'm coming out of my cave to post something that I feel is worthwhile.

There are two kittens in Southern Maine, Peter and Tinsel, that have been up for adoption since January but have yet to find their forever home. This pair of snuggly kittens have really touched my heart, especially Peter. He's had a rough time of it and is a little shy with new people. His "brother" Tinsel has helped to bring him out of his shell though.

Tinsel & Peter

These two kittens are adorable, playful, love to snuggle, and will give their new pet parents so much love! Read their story here: www.kittyblog.net/2011/03/peter-tinsel-odd-couple.html

I know not many people read my journal, but if some of you could maybe repost the link on your journals, twitter or facebook, it might help these two find their perfect home. I'd really appreciate the help.

Thanks for listening!

Happy 4th Everyone!

Flail!

AHHHH! I'm dying without my Brink update!  Where's my update?!  I can't stand it!

I sure hope we get one this Friday... and it better be a LONG one. I don't think I'll be able to survive another week without it!

Good Day!

Well, so far it's been a good day:

-The weather is finally NICE for a change!

-SW.com announced that ZAHN is writing another book... with MARA! It doesn't come out until 2011, but it's still great news!

-It's Friday which means we get a Brink update!! God, I'm so excited I could pee!

Hope everyone else is having a great day!

Mad Crush!

Is it weird that I'm seriously crushing on Neil Patrick Harris?  I've been watching the most awesome Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and NPH is incredible in it!  He's funny, nice, and can sing to boot!  If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it!  Joss Whedony goodness abounds!

SW Fic Rec

Okay... I haven't posted since MARCH, so I figured I'd better put something up here. Even if it's just to make the darn calendar switch over.

I know there aren't too many people who read this blog, but I wanted to recommend an AWESOME fic that I've been reading. It's called Tyranny Reborn by Rigil_Kent. It's located here on TFN and here on SWFF.

There's also a short fic prologue to the story titled Sidereal that's located at TFN and SWFF as well.  It's only 8 short chapters, so I'd recommend reading it first then diving into TR after that.

The story takes place after TTT and blessedly ignores any profic after that.  Although he does keep many of the characters we've come to know in those stories.  The writing is very reminiscent of Zahn (some, including myself, have accused RK of being TZ in disguise).  So those of you who sometimes wish TZ had written ALL of the EU should really check this out.  It's honestly one of the best fan fics I have ever read!

RK even wrote a neat little "trailer" for Tyranny Reborn.  It's after the cut if you're interested.

Writer's Strike is Over!

Whoo-Hoo!

Now let's hope we can get some new episodes of Lost past the 8 already shot.

I Support the WGA!

As much as I love my TV shows and movies, I just wanted to publicly declare my support for the Writer's Guild of America's strike. I'll miss my favorite shows, but I don't believe it's fair that the talented people who write these great pieces of entertainment don't get paid when their creations are played/downloaded on the internet! And they only get 2.5% of the profits of DVD sales! What a load of crap!

Without these writers we wouldn't have awesome shows like Lost, 24, Bones, CSI, NCIS, Smallville, Supernatural, Pushing Daisies, Heroes, etc.

So for the next few months, after the new episodes have all aired, we'll have to put up with... reality TV. YUCK! But that's okay. I have Netflix, books, and fanfic to keep me company.

Writers rock! Good luck WGA! I'm with ya in spirit!

Not Again!

Okay... I think it's officially a trend in entertainment: the killing off of beloved characters (usually FEMALE characters)! Last evening one of my favorite shows, Prison Break killed off the fan-favorite character of Sara! It wasn't just your run-of-the-mill character death either. They put her freakin' head in a BOX for a major character to find! Fans are understandably ticked off, and many are saying they won't be watching the show anymore. (Sound familiar?)

The reason for this killing? Well, here's what the show's producers had to say:

We determined that this was the right thing to do in order to really jolt the series.

Hmmm... kinda sounds like Del Rey to me. Why do these powers-that-be feel they need to shock viewers and jolt stories?! Don't they realize that we stick around not only for the stories, but for our favorite characters as well?!

I guess we'll see if the fans stick around for the rest of PB. I have a feeling the ratings are going to drop. This season has been even more gruesome and disturbing than past seasons, and it's turning some viewers off.

I'll probably watch for a few more weeks, but they've cut the heart out of the series. It's just not as much fun anymore.
